Talkatone: Texting & Calling

Internet Calling and Texting Without a Traditional Phone Line

Talkatone: Texting & Calling is a communication app for making calls and sending text messages over Wi-Fi or mobile data. It suits people who want a separate calling line, need to communicate from a tablet, or prefer not to rely entirely on a standard mobile plan. The app is developed by Talkatone, Llc and is listed in the Communication category.

A Dedicated US or Canadian Number

Talkatone can provide a real US or Canadian phone number for calls and SMS. This lets contacts reach you through regular phone numbers while your device is connected to the internet. The app can be useful as a secondary line, for travel, or on Android tablets and other devices without cellular calling support.

• Make calls and send texts through Wi-Fi or mobile data.
• Use a dedicated US or Canadian number for incoming communication.
• Change the current number through the app when a different line is needed.
• Call internationally using the app’s available calling rates.

Practical Uses and Limitations

The familiar phone and messaging layout keeps the main functions easy to find, with calling and texting handled in one place. Because service depends on an internet connection, call quality and message delivery can vary with the strength and reliability of the available Wi-Fi or data network. Talkatone is best viewed as an internet-based phone service rather than a replacement for every feature of a mobile carrier.

App Listing Snapshot

Talkatone: Texting & Calling has more than 10,000,000 installs and a rating of 3.7588 out of 5 from 194,523 reviews. Those figures suggest broad use, while the review count also indicates that experiences may differ depending on connection quality and individual calling needs.
