Comet: AI Browser & Assistant

AI-assisted browsing for research and everyday questions

Comet: AI Browser & Assistant combines a mobile web browser with an AI helper from PerplexityAI. It is suited to people who regularly compare sources, gather information, or want help completing multi-step browsing tasks without switching between separate apps. Instead of limiting the assistant to one page, Comet can work with information across the tabs in an active browsing session.

Useful tools across open tabs

• Cross-tab summaries: Ask Comet to bring together information from several open pages, which can help when researching a topic or comparing sources.
• Voice interaction: Voice-enabled tab chat lets you ask questions about your browsing session using spoken prompts rather than typing every request.
• Task-focused assistance: The AI can handle more involved requests and presents its reasoning as it works, making it easier to follow the steps behind an answer.
• Ad blocking: A built-in blocker reduces intrusive advertising and pop-ups while browsing, with support for allowing trusted creators.

What the experience is like

Comet keeps the browser interface relatively direct while placing the AI assistant close to the current page and open tabs. This makes it practical for summarising reading, finding a detail that appeared earlier in a session, or turning several sources into a shorter overview. Voice mode is especially useful when typing is inconvenient, although the quality of results still depends on the pages being viewed and the clarity of the request.
