Wattpad - Read & Write Stories

Read and write stories in one app

Wattpad - Read & Write Stories is a community reading and writing platform for people who want more than a traditional ebook library. Readers can browse stories across a wide range of genres, while writers can publish their own work in parts and build an audience over time. It suits casual readers looking for fresh, user-created fiction as well as aspiring writers who want feedback from other members.

Built around community reading

The app combines story discovery with social features. Readers can react to sections of a story, leave comments, and follow authors or titles they want to revisit. This makes reading more interactive than using a standard book app, although users who prefer a completely quiet, distraction-free experience may find the community layer prominent.

Useful tools for readers and writers

• Browse stories by genre, tags, and community interest.
• Save titles to a personal library and continue reading across supported devices.
• Write and publish stories from a mobile device, with the option to release longer work in chapters or instalments.
• Keep selected stories available for reading when an internet connection is not available.

Scale and overall profile

Wattpad is listed in the Books & Reference category and is developed by Wattpad.com. Its rating is approximately 3.88 out of 5 from more than 5 million reviews, and the app has recorded 100,000,000+ installs. That reach gives the platform a large pool of stories and readers, but the quality and style of individual titles can vary because much of the catalogue is community published. It is best suited to users who enjoy discovering new voices and taking part in an active storytelling community.
