QR & Barcode Scanner

QR and barcode scanning for everyday tasks

QR & Barcode Scanner from Gamma Play is a utility for reading QR codes and standard product barcodes with an Android phone camera. It suits shoppers, travellers, office workers, and anyone who regularly needs to open links, check product information, connect to Wi-Fi, or read details stored in printed codes. The app is designed for quick scanning rather than a multi-step workflow, so it can be useful when a code needs to be handled immediately.

What it can read and do

The scanner supports common data types such as website addresses, Wi-Fi details, ISBNs, contact information, and plain text. After a scan, it presents actions that match the result, such as opening a URL or using connection details. A built-in QR generator also lets users turn text, clipboard content, or contact information into a code.

• Scan QR codes and product barcodes
• Open or use recognised results directly
• Create QR codes from selected information
• Keep a history of previous scans
• Process multiple codes in batch mode

Useful features beyond the camera view

For repeated work, batch scanning can help collect several codes in succession, while export options support saving scan data in CSV or TXT form. Shoppers can use barcode scanning to compare product prices online. Flashlight support and pinch-to-zoom controls are helpful when a code is small or the surrounding light is poor. Dark mode and theme options provide some control over the app’s appearance.

Popularity and overall fit

QR & Barcode Scanner has a 4.8-star rating from more than 4 million reviews and has passed 500 million installs. Those figures indicate broad use, while the feature set makes it suitable for both occasional scans and more organised tasks such as inventory checks or data collection. It belongs to the Tools category and is developed by Gamma Play.
